Team Camp - General Information


DESCRIPTION
The RD Academy High School Team Camp at Santa Clara University is one of the best avenues to get exposure to top level NCAA Division I Baseball. This team camp allows high school players from 12 teams to showcase their ability, compete against high level players from the west coast, and be identified by Santa Clara's staff and other colleges, scouts, and coaches.

Players will participate in five full games at Stephen Schott Stadium at Santa Clara Unviersity or Saratoga High School in Saratoga, CA. There will also be daily instructional skill sessions and a breakout session with Santa Clara Baseball Head Coach Dan O'Brien to discuss the college baseball recruiting process.

CAMP LOCATIONS
Teams competing in the RD Academy Team Camp will play games at the following locations

  • Stephen Schott Stadium at Santa Clara University                            (443 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95053)
  • Saratoga High School                                                                        (20300 Herriman Ave, Saratoga, CA 95070)

 


AIRPORTS
San Jose International Airport (SJC) is located less than five minutes from Santa Clara University and Schott Stadium. Other airport options include San Francisco International Airport (SFO), located approximately 40 minutes north of campus, and Oakland International Airport (OAK), located 40 minutes north in the East Bay.


HOTELS
Although there are many quality and economical hotels conveniently located near Santa Clara University, we recommend staying at the Courtyard San Jose Aiport Hotel. This Courtyard by Marriott is located at 1727 Technology Drive, San Jose, CA 95110, and is about a five minute drive from campus.


ATHLETIC TRAINER
To help ensure that the players at our team camp remain healthy and safe at all times, we employ a certified Athletic Trainer at all of our team camps. The Athletic Trainer is equipped to handle medical issues and deal with emergencies if they arise. They monitor allergies, hydration, temperatures, energy levels, and the like.


FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Players and spectators should bring their own food and beverages each day. There will be a concession stand setup with drinks, chips, candy, etc.


PROGRAMS
There will be scout packets available at the entrance to each field for $10.00


SPECTATORS
Entrance Fee: $5.00 day pass or $15.00 for the weekend will be collected at entrance. 


BATHROOMS
Both stadiums have restrooms available for men and women. Players will have access to the stadium locker rooms and restroom facilities.


PARKING

  • Santa Clara University - Free street parking is available adjacent to Schott Stadium. On-campus parking lots at Santa Clara University require a parking pass which can be purchased on site

GAME RULES

  • All games are 7 innings or 2 hours – no new inning will start after the 2 hour mark.

  • Official baseball rules will be used

  • Teams may take groundballs on turf / fly balls in OF prior to each game.

    • Access to cages for teams playing will also be available upon request.
